DESCRIPTION

SHOCOAT R- is rubberized bituminous emulsion which dries to black, tough, flexible waterproof coating .

 

USES

SHOCOAT R is used as:

•   Damp proof coating .

•   Protection of below ground concrete from salt attack.

•   Adhesive and bonding agent for insulating boards and membranes.

•   Vapour seal for the hair cracks of the concrete surfaces.

•   General purpose waterproofing coating .

 

ADVANTAGES

Easy to apply  :  Product does not need flame to be applied.

Low cost  :  Water based material.

Chemical resistant   : Resists attack by chloride and sulphate ions present  in ground water .

Versatile  : Adhere to a wide range of materials including concrete, metal, wood, cork and insulating boards, and membranes.

Safety : Product is non-flammable 

High flexibility  : contains polymer latex. 

 

STANDARDS

SHOCOAT R is manufactured according to ASTM C309-93 .

 

PROPERTIES

Appearance: Brown/Black liquid. 

Solid Content:     50 - 55 % 

Viscosity: 200 Krebs @25C 

Density: 1.000  gm/cm3 ± 0.10 % 

Final Drying Time:2 hours @ 25 Co

Coverage rate:    2 m2 / kg without dilution .

 

*Drying time will depend on temperature, air movement and substrate.

 

PACKAGING:

18  Kg Steel pails.

200Kg Steel drums.

1000Kg Plastic Bulk

 

DILUTION

Add 5-10 % of clean water .

 

PRECAUTIONS

SHOCOAT R should be well stirred before use.

 

SURFACE PREPARATION

Surface to be treated must be sound, clean and free of oil or grease. Any oil or grease contamination may be removed with chemical degreaser.

 

APPLICATION

SHOCOAT R  may be applied by brush, or roller . It is recommended that one or two coats should be applied, depending on degree of protection required.

 

CLEANING

SHOCOAT R  may be removed from tools and equipment with water when it is wet, or when it is drying may be removed with thinner.

 

STORAGE

Shelf life is at least 12 months under temperature from 5-60 Co in covered or unopened areas away from direct sources of heat or naked flame.
